JEDDAH: Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim on Thursday welcomed a top-level delegation from the Saudi Shoura Council to his country’s parliamentary headquarters. The Saudi party of representatives was led by Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Ghamdi, vice chairman of the Saudi-Kuwaiti Parliamentary Friendship Committee and a member of the Shoura Council.
During talks, Al-Ghamdi stressed the importance of the strong and historic links between the two countries. Al-Ghanim said that the “unprecedented” Saudi-Kuwaiti relationship was particularly solid in terms of social, economic and political integration.

On behalf of all Kuwaitis, Al-Ghanim went on to thank Saudi Arabia and its people for their support during the occupation of Kuwait, and he praised the unification role played by the Saudi Shoura Council speaker, Dr. Abdullah Al-Asheikh, in the Arab and Islamic parliaments. As part of its official visit to Kuwait, the Shoura Council delegation also met with Dr. Hamoud Al-Khudair, chairman of the Kuwaiti National Assembly’s Health, Social and Labor Affairs Committee.
Among the subjects discussed were future cooperation between the two countries, and Kuwait’s charity and humanitarian aid work.
